Transparencies and Gradients...please HELP!

I know this is probably really easy but how the heck do you use gradients with transparencies in Fireworks MX.

Specificaly I want to make a gradient that goes from a specific color to transparent.

I know how to do this in Pphotoshop easy, but I can't seem to find how to do it through fireworks mx.

You can create a rectangle (or any shape), with a gradient fill. Place this on top of your picture, then group as mask. This will have your picture with a gradient effect.
