Transmit "^m" until correct response 1

I am in need of so help on creating a script that will send "^M" until the response that I am looking for is returned then transmit the corrected value . The problem I am having is that I creat a continuous loop that I have to manually exit. Any suggestion or help would be greatly appreciated
