Hey,

So I'm trying to upload some files to my pc using procomm. Nortel wanted the files to go to Design. I could not remember if I could transmit the file using Procomm or not. After awhile I called up the Nortel tech that is working on the case. She couldn't either. She said to copy to floppy and then attach them to the case.

My question is. Can I transmit a file from the Meridian switch to my pc over procomm? I am using ZModem. I just can't find the command.
A broad or narrow answer would work.
thanks yall

I'm pretty sure you can because I know you can do a back up to your PC. But give this post time and I know john will tell us he is the procomm guru.....john you say you're an old timer well if you do retire any time soon your not retiring from us are you???

We are on two different tracks here.

logged into the 11c switch, using procomm. accessed the p*t. Trying to get config.rec file from the switch to my local pc.

THEN sending the file to Nortel.

Sorry for the confusion. Hope that makes sense.

thanks

11c is the test system I have. Don't care to work on a live system, trying to do this.

81c is the actual system. I know I can copy to floppy, but having issues with the onsite personel. just trying to download, the files directly to my pc using procomm.

Using pdt.

thanks

Try this

CCBR File Transfer – Backup

1. Do a data dump in LD43
2. Then Log into overlay 143.
3. Type XBK and press <cr>, then press <cr>.
4. At the prompt R>, you have to start the file transfer procedure.
5. Select the ‘Receive File’ option and make sure that the protocol is set to X MODEM then select Receive.
6. Create a new file name (Customer name and date) for the information to be received in and select OK.

After a few seconds the process will begin and ‘packets’ will start to be sent (the whole process can take several minutes). Once the file transfer has finished the OPT 11 will respond with OK.

This next step is to verify the file. This process should never be missed as it can result in corrupted software!

1. Type XVR and press <cr>, then <cr> again.
2. At the prompt R> select ‘Send File’ option. Open the file you have just saved and select send.
After a few seconds, the process will begin and ‘packets’ will start to be sent. Once the process has finished the OPT 11 will respond with OK.

Esoare...if you trying to get the config.rec file from PDT then...

1. Change your protocol to X-Modem
2. Navigate to the directory where the config.rec file is
3. Type sx config.rec

At this point go to ProComm and right click on an empty area on the ProComm screen and choose Recieve File, enter in a file name and sit back and wait for it to finish.

sx to receive file from PDT
rx to send file to PBX from PDT

Thank you all for your replies!

Thanks yyrkroon! Just what I needed!
