I want to transmit data from PC to micro-controller,but the data-rate must be 9600bps. So, can I use a 'External USB 56k Modem' For this purpose?

PS: I know the '56k Modem' used V.92, but is '56k Modem' support V.32/V32 bis (9600bps)?

Thanks

It will fall back to the 9600
When you hear the initial tones they are negotiating speed between them.
They should agree on 9600 and then proceed.
Give it a try is the best way ?
