Hi All

I think I know the answer to the question?? Is there anyway of adjusting transmit audio levels for an IP handset, in the device and/or the controller. The users can adjust the listening level with up/down keys on mosts devices, that's obvious. Have never seen any details within programming or handset user guides....

The question has been raised by our client that office users talking to the outside world can't be heard.....

I have no caller/calling party details as yet or frequency of problem, or how a user(s) are utilising the handset???
But thought I'd raise the question here, before I get to the customer site.

More than likely a biological problem or a dodgee microphone in one or more handpieces?

System Details
Mxe, mcd 4.1
Trunking: 1 x Pri-rate E1 / etsi
Handsets: All 5312 and 5330s no analogues.

I do not believe there is a way to boost the audio outgoing. I would assume the issue is with trunking or headsets if they are in use.

The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.

I experienced this same issue at a site and it was the provider causing the problem. Have the "affected" devices call one another internally to see if there's a volume issue. It could be one of the channels bad on the PRI or a dirty E1. Connect your test set to one of the analog ports and make some test calls to see if you get the same results.

I would definitely point towards the provider first though. This is assuming that this is a new installation.

You can also monitor SMDR to see if it's a particular caller or channel that experiences the problem. Are they incoming or outgoing calls with the volume issues? If incoming, is it coming across a toll free number? If outgoing is it going to a specific area?

"The only problem with common sense is that it's not that common
