What I'd like to have our CCM do is add 7 digits (9121211) whenever someone internally dials a 5 digit number that starts with 23XXX. Can this be done? I've checked out routing translation on the Cisco website but didn't find an answer.

thanks in advance.

What are you trying to do? translate the called party number or the calling party number?

Add a translation pattern witch looks like this:

Translation pattern: 23xxx
Called Party Transform Mask: 912121123xxx
or
Calling Party Transform Mask: 912121123xxx

I'm not sure if this will work because the new number (23xxx 9121211) is probably an outside number according to your route-patterns (0.@ or 0.!)
This way the CCM will try to route the call trough the Gateway.

im trying to translate a calling party number( number being dialed by an employee) The 912...etc number is long distance so it should go out the main gateway. I'll try it and let you know how it goes. I'm not very familiar with CCM, so it may take a while.

thanks

The number being dialed would be the 'called' number. The person doing the dialing would be the 'calling' number. Looks like you are trying to do digit insertion on the number being called, or the 'called' number. If so, then simonITXperts has got you on the right track.
