My Win2K server has recently (within the last 10 days) started to give problems in building cubes using series 7 MR2.
I use macros to automate out of hours processes, and they trap errors to alert me of failures.

With builds, I am occasionally getting failures, where the transformer log shows that the build has not gone beyond reading one of the iqds (no error message is recorded in the log).
The error trapping in the macro gives "error 438 : no such property or method" relating to the create cube line of the macro. The 'freezing' of transformer can also occur when the build is started manually from within transformer

Concerned that the models may have had some corruption, I have tried saving the .pyi models as .mdl and then resaving the .mdl as .pyi and thought this had worked.

I have also upgraded to the latest version of S7MR2 (.511) by uninstalling and re-installing transformer and associated applications.

The intermittent nature of the problem is what foxes me - could it be an antivirus issue? I did set the folder in which the temp files are created to be excluded from the antivirus checks. It's not a DB access issue, as I have had incidents when of two concurrent builds, one fails and one succeeds.

Can anyone offer advice or has anyone else suffered similarly?

many thanks,

lex
