Transformer and Multi-processors

Would a cube build any faster on a 4 processor machine, than on one with 2 processors?

I would also like some ideas on how to set up a typical production environment for cubes.

Questons:

Are the cubes being built on the sever (the web server)?
When are they built (daily, at nights etc)?
How do you manage recoverability of production cubes?
How can I impliment load-sharing across multiple servers?
Is there an advantage/disadvantage to using DOS batch files to automate cube build?
