Hi

I'm importing a file using the transfertext but could do with an example/help on how to prompt the user for the file location to import - as the name of the file changes everytime?

Thanks in advance?

I have always done this with an activeX control, I'm not sure if there is another way (there must be, but this control allows me to set it to start in a specific folder). How does the file name change every day? I ask because If it is just a date it's easy enough to set your file name dynamically.

Hope this helps,

Alex

Hi

Thank you for your response - the file name is automatically generated from the download system, I would just like the user to be prompted to select the folder and file.

How would this be done with ActiveX Control?

Thanks

What is the naming convention for these files? You may not even need to prompt the user.

If you decide to, have a look at this (provided you are not using Access 2000 or earlier it is possible to call the common dialog box).

Another thing you might want to look into is the DriveListBox, DirListBox, and FileListBox controls.

Hope this helps,

Alex
