Transfers to voicemail/internal calls failing

Over the last few weeks then receptionist here has had some odd issues with her phone.

First, sometimes when transferring an external call to someones voicemail it tells her they were sent, but they just get put on hold until they hang up and call back. This appears to happen with multiple different voicemails.

Secondly when calling internal extensions sometimes the call gets dropped part way through. Again this isn't regulated to any particular extension and doesn't seem to happen except when the receptionist calls them. Sometimes she gets a "Not in service" the second she finishes dialing the extension, it still rings for the other person, but they don't get anything when they pick up.

Sometime before this started I changed lines to Supervised to allow external call forwarding. I don't think that (or any other of the changes I made from this list ) could cause this, but its the only thing I can think of that's changed in the phone system before this started. So its either that or something random, but whatever it is if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Sounds like the software mod going south. (Also sounds like an 8x24/DS with DR5--just guessing.) Next thing to happen will be extentions will ring (by themselves) but no-one at the other end.

Does sound like corruption

Try these in order until fixed:

1.
-Reboot phone system

2.
-Turn Set relocation Off
-Replace set with an M or T 7208
-Once it boots up then put back the reception set

3.
-Replace phone

4.
-Upgrade the software to 7.1 and upgrade the NVRAM to release 2, this way you will be up to date.
There is a special procedure for this.
Assuming your 4.1 you will need 6.1 tool/software first.

5.
-Do a System Startup and re-program from scratch.

Sorry for long wait, figured I'd make sure I had results before I posted anything.

A system restart appears to have fixed this issue, and now I feel rather silly. Just cause I'm only now learning the phone system doesn't mean I should forget about how I fix every third problem with computers. [tongue]

Thanks for the help.
