I have a client complaining that whenevr calls are transferred to him and a couple other extensions....it rings at several extensions, so nobody knows if it's really for them. I printed out a report on the prime station in question. I see that he is in some groups, but am not entirely sure how to change that if in fact that is the problem. The text follows below:

Thanks in advance for the help.

The extensions that are ringing concurrently (or on a delayed basis) are probably programmed to "cover" extension 536. You can remove that either through centralized programming or at the ringing set.

At the set that is ringing, press Feature 00, and press each of the programmable buttons until you see cover 536 in the display. Select "Del" from the display. Repeat as needed if that extension is ringing with other extensions. Press "Home" when finished.

Actually, if anyone had a Primary or Secondary coverage buton on their phone, it would show up in the extension info printout above

A   Primary Coverage    :
A   Secondary Coverage  :
A   Coverage Group      :  1
A   Group Coverers      :  770
A   NS Groups           :  500

So I'm not really sure why multiple extensions would be ringing on transfers (assuming the print out is from the extension that calls are being transferred to)

If calls are transferred to this extension...it rings at 3-4 other extensions as well. And the same goes for when calls are transferred to those 3-4 other extensions....it rings at this users extension. I will check the other stations to see if they are covering 536. Let me know if you think of anything else in the meantime.

Thanks

Are the calls being transfered by humans or Auto-Attendant?

franke

have you actually been on site and seen this yourself?
Are you sure when other phones are called this phone rings?
nothing on ext info would indicate tha this phone should ring for any other reason then it is called directly or night service is on. Print ext info on all the extensions involved. there must be cover buttons or SSA buttons somewhere.

Yes I have actually witnessed this happen.

When the call is transferred by auto attendant, it rings normally. It is only doing this when transferred by the receptionist.

I checked the buttons on all the phones in question. None of them are set to cover any other extension. What I may just do is give him a new extension (the main problem phone), seeing as I'm not completely sure what other people have programmed into the system. And I also see nothing else that would indicate why multiple extensions are ringing. Thanks for the suggestions, and if you think of anything else then hit me.

I would go along with pepperz ,look in your night service group 500
