Transferring Main Number instead of Extension

I have a BCM 400 that users are complaining of all transfer attempts are transferring the main number instead of their individual extension. The users have a line appearance for the main line on their phones and also a separate personal extension. Is there something they need to be doing differently? Is there a setting on the lines that need to be changed, such as a primary DN setting or something? Thanks in advance.
 
DO you mean forwarding? If so, instead of using Feature 4 (All Call Forward), use Feature 84 (Line Redirection) to redirect the line(s) in questions.

Forwarding (Feature 4) applies for anytime that phone ring (internal call or external call). If you want to only forward intercom calls, you must set lines to appear only on the set you foward.
 
endlesswinter- So I cannot forward the individual extensions as long as they have the main number appearing on their phones?
 
Sorry.. Use a HUNT GROUP to have the main line ring on the sets. Hunt groups don't follow any forwarding programmed on the phones. So if the user forwards their extension, then the extension will forward, but not the hunt group.
