is it possible for a operator to transfer an external call to an external trunk and announce the call before releasing it? Right now it's a blind transfer, the operator doesn't know if the call will picked up, busy, or rna. Is there a good way to accomplish this type of transfer?

No responses! is this not a reasonable function to attempt, has anyone found a better solution?

thanks

I would expect it to work. Anytime we transfer a call off-site (usually to a cell phone) we wait until the party (or voicemail) answers before completing the transfer.

This is the way they handle calls now, but the attendants handle a lot of calls and they complain that it takes to long to wait for someone to answer so they limit the number of rings and then abort the transfer.

Ah... your question asks if you are able to do a supervised transfer. Are you asking if they can do a 'blind'/un-supervised transfer? If you have good disconnect supervision, you should be able to do that.

If trunk to trunk transfer is enabled for a particular extension, then that extension can do the supervised transfer.
