Sorry in advance if this is a stupid question . . .

When our receptionist, say, transfers a call to our Support hunt group, the call bounces back if Support fails to pick up. Understandably, people here would like to have the call sent to the Support hunt group's voice mail instead. I'm sure this is possible, I just don't see how to set it up.

Everything else about the hunt group seems to work fine, just not these internal transfers...

Specs: BCM 1000, software version 3.6

Thanks,
J

Hunt groups take precedence over call forwarding. It follows the parameters that are set in the hunt group programming. The only way to have a hunt group go to a mailbox is either to have the hunt group to overflow to an extension (now it is out of the hunt group) and follow the extensions call forward-no answer programming and then go into its mailbox, or create a new mailbox with the same number as the hunt group DN and program the extension for the mailbox the same number as the hunt group DN and have the hunt group overflow to the Voice Mail DN. Keep in mind that you will not have "Message For You" on any phone. You can set up OPN for it. You may also have to play with the timers, such as Transfer Callback, to make it work as well.

Make sure your transfer callback timer is not set to a lower time than the queue timeout in the Hunt Group

Excellent! Thank you both. It was a mismatch between the timers.
