Hi,

I did multiple searches on the Internet and I have to admit that I'm still very confused. My plan is to create a DTS that will connect to my Progress DB on Unix (V9.1D) and retrieve some data.

My questions are the following:
1. Do I need to install SQL-92 server install on my UNIX box to create an ODBC connection from my SQL server?
2. If I need to install SQL-92, I probably need the JDK for UNIX. Right?
3. Is there any correlations between the MERANT Progress (Client) and the SQL-92 (Server).

Thanks,
Patrick

[li]DTS will connect with an arbitrary ODBC provider.[/li][li]Progress does not have a native ODBC provider.[/li][li]The missing piece in your puzzle is the Merant ODBC provider for Progress.[/li]

Consider the rest of what you wrote as babbling. Does that help clear things up?

Also see Thread292-636337. What you're asking now might be the first step in this direction.
