I have a 616KSU and a StarTalk Mini along with a cordless phone attached to an ATA on ext 34. The cordless is set up as the operator extension and I need to know how to transfer calls to voicemail.
I tried that, but when I hit FLASH *986 I get an outside line. Is this because of my DR2 firmware? I can use FLASH along with some other feature codes and they seem to work fine, but as soon as I hit FLASH *9, I get the CO.

You hit it on the head with it being different on a DR2.
according to the book you don't use the Link/Flash * for accessing a feature you use just the link/Flash
Alternate line [tab] Link 9
Call Fwd[tab][tab][tab][tab]Link 4 Canx Link 1 4
call Hold [tab][tab][tab][tab]Link 7 Canx Link 1 7
Last Number[tab][tab][tab]Link 5
Speed dial[tab][tab][tab][tab]Link 0 plus speed location
Transferl[tab][tab][tab][tab]Link 9 Puts call on hold and activates alternate line Dial DN to transfer to
[tab][tab]when 3rd party answers dial Link 3

I tried your FLASH codes and they all work great. Thanks. But I still have the issue of transferring to voicemail. How can this be accomplished? I haven't tried changing the pool code yet.
Alternate line flash 9
Call fwd flash 4
Conference flash 9 flash 3 if 2nd call busy flash 17
Split conf. flash 9 alternates between calls
flash 3 back to conference
Disconnect conf. flash 9 splits the conference, hang up on the caller you want to disconnect.
Flash 1 7 to return to held call
Hold call flash 7 cancel flash 1 7
Last # redial flash 5
Page flash 6 if using ATA-2 flash60 cancel flash 16
Ring again flash 2 cancel flash 12
Respond to ring again flash 2 return to call you were on flash 17
Speed Dial flash 0
Call progress tones flash 8 cancel flash 18
Transfer flash 9 dial # flash 3 hang-up
Tones off (for modems) flash 18
This may not work since there is already a feature code of 9 for the DR2 ata software, you might try
link 9 VM DN,
when vm answers dial * MBX DN
then link 3 then hangup
I am not aware if there are other feature codes for DR2/VM

Beware as you need to get the right DR5, there is DR5 and DR5 DS, you know your KSU is DS if the writing on the KSU and software is in green and if it is in black then you have non DS.
Not sure if I will do the software change, but I do appreciate the information. I would hat to have purchased the wrong one. Do you know how much it will run (aprox)?
