Hi there, we have a Merlin Legend R3 with Merlin Mail Release 7.5, 4 ports. It's all set up and working fine. Day and night menus activate at the right times, etc. However, currently when the office closes the main phone line is call-forwarded to an outside answering service. The boss however would like to change this. He wants us to let the Merlin Mail get after-hours calls, but have an option on the menu "If your call is urgent press 1" and the call would be transferred to the answering service. The other menu items would be as they are now - transfer to an extension, hear the directory, etc.

How do I set this up please? I've read the documentation and can see how to set up outcall notification, but not how to actually transfer to an outside number.

Thanks a lot,
Richard

- Renumber an adjunct to become the desired Extension Number
- System Renumber>Single>Adjuncts>Old Adjunct No.>Enter>New Extension No.>Enter

- Assign Authorization Code to New Extension
- Extensions>More>Auth Code>Ext. No.>Enter>(CODE)>Enter
(Hint: Make the Authorization Code be the same as the Extension Number

- Enable Remote Forwarding
- Remote Fwd>Extension No.>Enter

To Forward the Extension:
Go to a KEYSET, and press an SA Key
Dial #80-[Authorization Code]-*31-9-[Outside Telephone Number] #

Now make your selector code 1 do a Selector Code Transfer to the Forwarded Extension

Thanks Tommy, but I couldn't get the first step to work. I get as far as

System Renumber>Single>Adjuncts>Old Adjunct No.>Enter>, but then I don't get a "New Extension No" prompt, just a "New Adjunct No". Trying to enter a (two-digit) extension number (The adjunct numbers are three digit) gives an error tone, and it doesn't 'take'.
