The Village of Port Jefferson recently built a new Village Center for all residents. We have a reception desk where a receptionist is on duty daily to answer telephone calls on our main line and greet guests as they arrive. I was trying to program a button on the telephone so that the dedicated receptionist line can be transfered to a calling group. I have set up calling group 3 to contain the extensions that I want to ring when a call arrives. My idea was that when the receptionist leaves for they day, she presses the button and all calls on this line are sent to the calling group. The problem is, when i program feature 11-20-73, the screen displays error and the phone beeps. Is my idea possible? Thanks in advance!

That won't work. You can only forward to another extension or a personel speed dial if you have the capability for remote call forwarding. How about programming a night service group with the extension you want to ring and a button on extension 10 to turn it on or off.(assuming you are not using it for voicemail already).

or just assign all the calling group extensions with delayed ring .

Is it possible to place a "Night Service" button on extension 20? That is the receptionists extension.

what about using call coverage and giving the recepionist a DND button .

What is the difference between Call Coverage and straight out Fowarding?
