I am trying to develop a macro to import a text file into my Access database. The text file does not have a header. So I created a specification file to match the imported text with the headers in my table. The import is tab delimited. I am using the transfer text command in my macro. The problem is in the second field I am only getting 10 characters not the full text. The first column is OK.

Any help would be appreciated.

Tom

Check your table definition and be sure that your 'second field' is set to allow more than 10 characters. You can set a text field to up to 255 characters, or you can switch to a OLE/Memo-type field that allows basically unlimited input.

Your right! I inadvertantly set this property to 10.

Thanks
