Transfer text from MSaccess

Hail,

Is it possible to launch the TransferText method in MSaccess from a VB app?
I'm having problems using a txt file to populate a table through VB because it is width delimited (columns with spaces) but with a specification I can manage perfectly. I'd rather just use Access for it's database capabilities and not start playing with macros or modules, can anyone suggest something?
