I have one server that has new entries in the sysmessages table of the master database. I would like to transfer these to another server's master database. I have tried everything within DTS, but as soon as I select the master database, no tables are listed and I can't query anything.

How can I transfer system tables, specifically the sysmessages (append only) between master databases?

In most instances, you are not able to manipulate system tables.

You could however use sp_addmessage and create a script w/ all the messages you need to replicate. You could open the source servers sysmessage table, select/copy and then paste all of the records into a text file.

Then, deleting all but the messages that are needed, you could work that record set into insert statements of a stored procedure. Run that SP in the target server and your there!
