I am pretty new to the IPO world and have a customer that we upgraded from a bcm to ipo. They are reusing their t7316e sets and wanted to be able to transfer a call directly to someones voicemail box old norstar code F986.

I tried putting in the short code #XXX and that comes up incompatible.

Is this possible with the Norstar sets?

It is an embedded voicemail on an 8.1 system.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pretty sure this worked for me.

When you make the short code it should be:

#XXXN
Voicemail Collect
#N

When you go to OK this, sometimes you get quotes around the code. We were taught to use the drop down, change it to Voicemail Node, OK it, then drop down again and change it back to Voicemail Collect. Worked for me.

The number of XXX's has to relate to the extension number length. XXX for 3 digits, XXXX for 4 digits, etc.

Hope this helps

Ok thanks I will try that as I have the quotes around it.

I will give it a try.

#xxxx, voicemail collect, "#"N this is how we set ours up and it works great.

hey Joe that is how i have it set up now. The user answers the call hits transfer then #and the ext and gets a incompatible message on screen

Has to be phone related then, maybe not a supported phone type.

try calling # and the extension if that works

I have had it in the not too far past and it worked for me

make sure you put the " " in the right spot and not use the default one
also make sure you don't have a duplicate SC #... that may interfere

I am getting incompatible showing up on the screen so I guess I can't do it.
