What software would be best to transfer data over a serial port
.

thanks!

You have been told before on your previous threads about some options. Have you tried any of them?

If nothing else you can ALWAYS use UUCP.

But, once again, try kermit.

I'm not too sure about 'slip'. It normally is used for internet connectivity (S-erial L-ine I-nternet P-rotocol). I wonder how difficult it would be to configure, connect, and use.

how hard is it for you to look at kermit on the net?

another option .

search for rzsz and see if you can find this for your particular os.

I was just thinking out loud about the 'slip' approach. I can't recall ever knowing anyone who actually used it to transfer files, not that it wouldn't or couldn't work.

I think Federico's UUCP idea is the best bet. At least you can find DOS capable versions. Kermit and rzsz usually require lots of massaging to get them functional.
