Can anyone answer this question for me as we are having a few arguments over this:

We have a Avaya Definity version 6.

If I transfer an incoming call to an external location from an internal extension, am I charged for the remainder of this call even though the internal extension is no longer involved in this call??

The way I see it is that the trunk will still keep the line open through our switch, so I carry on paying for this call until one of the 2 parties involved hang up?

Many thanks for any help!

yes, even if the extension is no longer involved, your outbound trunks still are. If the incomming call heppen to be to an toll free number then your going to be charged for both inbound and outbound.

I have no technical solution to your management problem

This is true unless u transfer using the centrex feature to transfer the call. In that case I don't think u are charged.

P.S. For the best response to a question, please read FAQ222-2244. Also give the type & version of your voice mail & pbx system & preview your post to make sure it is complete & understandable. Be aware that if u don't answer a question, I usually will not continue to help u. Please leave a post on how u fixed the problem too.

Many thanks,

This is what I thought.

Thanks again
