I'm just double-checking, and I don't have time to go through the entire OEM license agreement, but would it be correct to presume that you cannot move a copy of SBS from one computer to another once it's been activated, even if you remove it completely from previous said computer?

Yeah, that's right, if it's an OEM version. If it was a retail version, you could, and you could explain your situation to the licensing clearinghouse. But not with OEM. That license has to run on the server it was purchased with.

Just like I thought.

Thanks!

New version of SBS 2003 R2, coming up!

Just making sure you are aware that SBS 2008 will be x64. So if your hardware does not support x64 installations, then start budgeting now for the new server.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark
