transfer effects from Photoshop to ai

Is there a way to transfer (save) a set of effects from Photoshop and apply it to text or an object in Illustrator? Sorry, I'm a noob at ai.

It kinda depends on what kind of effect you want. Illustrator has it's own effects that do basically the same thing as Photoshop - like glow effects, blurring etc.
