transfer directly to voicemail

Hi All.

I have an issue where a customer wants to transfer a call directly to a user's voicemail, without ringing the phone.
I have put voicemail direct onto a button on their phone, and had them try F986, but they get a no mailbox message when I am sure there is one.

The only strange thing that this could be is the fact that, since they do not have receptionists on site, the calls that come in are sent down to their manned site, over a voip trunk, and then they try to transfer back to the user at another site. (Yes I know... not the best things but you know customers...)

I have network redirect enabled on the system, so am wondering how else I can get this to work.

Any ideas?

This "manned" site, is it IP sets or another BCM involved?

Is it an issue with ALL mailboxes or just one?

Are they doing it correctly?
-Feature 986, 2XX (manual, do not use an Auotdial for 2XX)

The sites both have BCM's.

Is it an issue with ALL mailboxes or just one?

The mailboxes are all working fine.

Are they doing it correctly?

As far as I know they are. I have told them to transfer me to the extension to, and they had (or said they have). They hear nothing.. dead air. When I call into the system they want to have the desire to make work... directly.. I get right to the voicemail.

I am wondering if the target line setup I have is wrong.

-Feature 986, 2XX (manual, do not use an Auotdial for 2XX)

You need MCDN key code for this to work since it is 2 BCM's connected.

What I meant was it an issue to to transfer to one mailbox or all?
If all then then MCDN per above....somebody may concur here.

Will presume also an issue when callers are listening to AA then trying to enter an extension of the other BCM and it will not transfer?

In answer to your question, what they want this for is as follows:

Someone calls unmanned office, presses 0 (or nothing) and the call goes to the manned office.
The user at the manned office gets the call, and then calls the extension the person wants.
If the person who is desired to be contacted is on the phone, they want to be able to send the call to the user's voicemail directly.

Since the person who has been called is NOT on the BCM at the manned site, you can't use Feature 986 as express transfer.

I have, in the callpilot created a express voicemail with an SDN, and a currently unused extension. (I did try using an extension that was non-existant) but that didn't work. The extension that is to receive the call and do the transfer to voicemail, is forwarded all to the voicemail.

Now, this will work if I call the main line, and enter the extension. The voicemail lady asks you to enter the extension you want, and you go to the appropriate person's voicemail.

But if the call goes to the manned off and they do a
Transfer -> dial express forwarding extension -> they say that they are getting dead air.

Hi Guys.

I just got into work, and checked the MCDN license status on the sites with the issue.

The office that is manned (that is want to leave a message in the unmanned office) has a valid MCDN license.
The unmanned office has an expired MCDN license.

I thought is was an MCDN issue per my above statement but it helps if you say "it used to work" or "stopped working" as I was under the impression you were trying something new.....except in this case because who new you had a 'TryNbuy" code lol.
