Can you transfer the CID with the call when you are transfering it to another extension ? Used to have the AA answer the calls and callers would select the extension in the prompts then the CID appeared ate the callee's phone. Now there is a receptionist who picks the phone (sees the CID) then, transfers the call to an extension- but the extension does not get up the CID.

Can we get CID 'pass-thru' ?

Hi foosy,
CLID is only displayed on system phones and will follow the call. SLP phones will not show CLID, it's not sent on the tip/ring pair.

if the receptionist presses transfer + extension + transfer again (or hangs up right away) it should transfer the caller id. I bet the receptionist isn't completing the transfer which would leave the outside caller on hold and show the call coming from the receptionist instead of showing the caller id.

The receptionist press transfer + extension only. Actually all the extensions are programmed on the buttons so a button is e.g intercom 23. To transfer to an extension she presses transfer and the appropriate button.

Should she press transfer again afterwards ?

Actually, all she has to do is press the button for the extension. If she does not hang up, she can announce the call to the "target" person, the call is transferred when she hangs up. If she hangs up the call is transferred "blind".
This is a very fast way to clear calls on a switchboard.
