Hi Folks

I have a database I've built on my regular PC for an application I've been working on. I need to copy it and transfer / reinstall it onto a laptop so I can continue to work on my app while I'm away for a short while. The laptop also has SQL Server 2008r2 installed on it, so the environments should be the same.

How to I copy the entire DB and install it on my laptop? I can't seen to find an answer in management studio.

Thanks if you can help

Craig

backup the database - restore it on the laptop.

You may also need to transfer the users and permissions over separately. Also keep a look out for orphaned users.
