I apologize if this sounds off the wall but hear me out....

We will get a call from outside the agency. We accept the call, put them on hold, call a translator line and then conference the call together. At this point we no longer need to be on the call. If we hang up the call it will ring us back as it's still on our phone system.

Is there a way to maybe transfer those calls in a way so they don't eat up two of our phone lines and/or not ring us back? At the very least we could add a few extra lines on the phone and then let them finish their call and still allow new calls to come in. But we would want it to not ring us back.

Go to System > Telephony > Telephony

UN-check the box for "Drop External Only Impromptu Conference"

Now you can create the 3-way call and drop off, the remaining parties will remain connected. Remember that it is YOUR phone lines they are utilizing, so you may need to add more outside lines if it happens a lot.

Or instead of doing a confrence TRANSFER

Press the transfer button to connect the caller not confrence.

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

There is a service available from your phone provider that you can do a hook switch flash or what is known a recall button that allows a direct transfer to another number and frees up your line. What they call it varies by provider. One term is a centrex transfer.
