Hi,

I have 3 years exp in SQL Server and was thinking about obtaining a MCDBA. Can I just do it by using Transcenders.

VBXL

Absolutely. In fact, you may not need to purchase the full Transcenders if your experience has exposed you to all the facets of database development (installation, design, administration, etcc...). Simply download the Transcender demos to get acquainted with the types of questions you can expect to encounter on the exams.

Bare in mind, you'll also have to pass an OS test (either W2K Server or .NET Server once it's available), as well as an elective exam.

Refer to and identify the 4 exams you feel most comfortable taking to satisfy your requirements. Then refer to the "Skills Being Measured" section of each exam to see how your skills measure up. Jon Hawkins

Then check out FTP://66.137.228.145:21 to try the tests before you buy.

I took a class from a gent who was part of the team who wrote w2k. He told the class that after we were done, get the trancesnders. There are three main tests on the cd. He told us to start the first test, then cancel it at once. Study the test, then take it again. After each test, print out only the wrong awnsers. Keep studying until you get 100%, then move on to test two. Do the same thing with test two and three. He guarenteed that using this method, (Getting 100% on all three tests), we would never fail the Microsoft tests. (Since the tests cost $100 at the time, the money for the trancenders was worth it.) I've used this method for 70-210 and 70-215. Passed them both the first time. Working on 70-216 now. From there, I'm going to take the test for my MCSA, then onto MCSE. This really does work. Glen A.
