Transaction Logs Question???

This might be a simple question. When backing up Transaction Logs using a Maintenance Plan. Does it automatically truncate the transaction logs on completion?

The reason i ask, is within the backup facility in Enterprise manager. There is a feature to truncate the transaction log but this is not stated in the maitenance Plan.

The maintenance plan can truncate the transaction log. Maintenance plans are tricky things, and don't always work they way they should. I would recomment writting the SQL backup statements by hand and scheduling them to run. This will give you much more control over what is being done.
