Hi all,

I can not shrink my log, because error "The log was not truncated because records at the beginning of the log are pending replication. Ensure the Log Reader Agent is running or use sp_repldone to mark transactions as distributed."
I do not have replication right now, I have disabled long time ago. Now that I checked in the Replication folder in Publishers from Enterprise Manager there is a Publication that is nor actually active - how come no jobs nothinng, no subscribers ... ? How can I remove this dead replication and continue shrinking the log.

Thanks a lot,
ProBani.

Apparently replication was not completely removed from the database. If there is a publication that has articles then the logs need to be kept available for replication. Remove the article and you'll be able to work with the log.

The problem is that I removed the replication with Disable Publishing and Distributing and now I can not do with that option to remove this Publication (when I right click on Replication "Disable Publishing" is disabled). I tried with to delete it but error: SQL Server EM could not retreive the subscription to the publication "Publish_all", Error 2812: Could not find stored procedure ".
How to remove articles; this publication is only that is appearing like that, because distribution database is not there; articles you mean to remove from Properties of this publication under Articles?

Thanks a lot,
ProBani.

Do you have a backup of the distribution database?

Can you go in and reconfigure the server for distribution mabey that will let you remove everything.
