Hello, in SQL 2000 we do a full backup ever night. We are also doing log shipping.

Do we need to truncate the transaction log? Do we need to backup the transaction log (which would truncate I think)?

Thank you,
Dana

You do not need to truncate the log.

You do not need to backup the TLog since Log Shipping is exactly that.

It creates a backup of the TLog, ships it over to the remote server(s) in the log shipping environment, then restore the log on the remote server(s).

Thanks
