Hi I want to make my form transparent, now that is easy..but there is one region in the form "a tpanel" which I do not want to be affected by the transparency. In other words I want it to stay fully visible no matter what the alphablendvalue of the TForm is.

Thanks for any replies

I know it can be done because I've seen "pro" components that do it. Which BCB are you using?

Ive seen this too in some components..but they were only Delphi components which did not work on BCB..Ive got BCB6..The effect Iam searching for is the "glassy" effect.

In my BCB package, I also got a CD named Companion Tools. You can also download it from Borland's website. One the components is a full library of VCL components from ExpressForum. One of those components allows you to create a form of any shape or size by creating a transparent form. You can also create unusual backgrounds.

If you don't see what you are looking for in that library, look around on the CD for others.

Most Delphi components can work with BCB.

Actually I want to thank you all for your replies...I solved this problem..and I want to note that Iam using the VCL components from ExpressForum, and it is a very recommendable package.
