Hi, i'm currently on a project writing reports for a new ERP system a company is implementing. Along the way i've been writing reports pointing to the various copies of the database all with diff names/port numbers.

For some inexplicable reason 3 of the 100+ reports, originally pointing to database A, when i try and point it at database B it holds a trailing piece of sql in the sql query of the report pointing to database A. Even though the datasource location only shows database B. Although i can run the report ok in design it refuses to let me save the report

Any ideas? it wont let me edit the SQL as the report was written in CR XI v2

cheers

In Datasource open up the table with the +

Double click overridden qualified table name
Enter the table name again.

This will trim off any schema names from your SQL, and make it portable

Hi Ian, thanks but unfortunalty this still doesn't work. it still has the trailing sql, pointing at the original datasource in the SQL query. it is on a seperate line to the main sql, i can send you screen prints if you think that would help

thanks for your help

Sounds like you have an unlinked table. In set datasource location, try setting the location table by table, instead of for the datasource as a whole.

Not sure--just a thought, and I don't really have anything else I could add.
