Traffic shaping - how much memory is required

Hi all,

All of the cisco docs about shaping say that you must make sure you have enough memory. But I cannot find anywhere that describes how to figure out if you have enough. The amount must be based on the queue size you specify time a frame size. Would I just multiply those then look at the free I/o or processor memory?
