Can an expert give me step by step procedure for traffic recording and then analyse it on some platform. I want to record the traffic for at least three days during working hrs from 9-00am to 6-00pm on a pstn link (local land lines 2mb link)

Hi…
Traffic recording needs data storage space on the MD System Disk… look for TMFS (Traffic Measurement File System).

IODDP;

If this is not available then your traffic recording data will be deleted from the temp storage space just after midnight. So you will only get prints between 6pm and midnight.

Record on ROUTE…
TRROI:ROU=…,TIMEI=09-00,TIMEE=18-00,DATE=2005-03-12&&2005-03-15;

When you request recording the MD110 will give you a MENO (Measurement Number) this is used to get results prints.

TRDIP;
Will print a directory of recordings.

To print results. You should log results to disk and then open in Excel etc.
TRREP:MENO=..,PERIOD=1;

Try PERIOD=2 and look at the TIME values.

Note that you will get a system alarm if the MD cannot dump the results at midnight.

Thanks for the tips !
I got this for a period of 10-15 to 18-00, system is BC12 and this one is a test only. Is there any interpretor or software to sketch a graph of this ?

Hi,

So you have some data...

With 29 lines and a probability of 0.01 blocking you could have a TRAF of 19.487 Erlang... you have a max of 3.45 Erlang.

If you have Microsoft Excel you could open the recording as a text file and work with Excel.

Or you could search for an Erlang Calculator such as...
or

Brilliant !
If I want to sketch a histogram, is it possible with any software available on any site, like you mentioned for Erlang. If I do it manually should Be Time vs calls ?

Thanx !
