I have been using access for serveral years and I am stumped when designing my current database project. The user wants to record metrics by month for a service. The service would stay the same, the only thing that would change is the metrics when I select a different month.

I am thinking this can be done in a subform, but I am having trouble linking the information together. Right now I have Service number, and service preformed in the top of the subform, and date and metrics being measuered (there are 4 diffrent areas that i am measuring) in the bottom half of the subform.

Any thoughts or ideas?

It is unclear to me where you are stuck and what exactly you have done...

You talk about a sub form but do not mention linking Master/Child fields nor if the main form is bound or unbound nor the recordsoucres or what the general layout of your tables are.

If you mean you have a set of metrics that have to be input each month for a service but don't want the user to select them, you want an append query running on an appropriate event...

If your question is about navigation with a composite key, I would write one procedure to do it and call it on each related control's afterupdate...

I don't have any other guesses.

Lameid-

Thanks for the rresponse...I was making this way harder than I should have. I figured out that all I need to do was to set up a parent child relationship to solve my problems. I was trying to get to fancey with what i was tring to do.
