I have recently setup a free hosting service and I need a way to track the traffic and bandwidth each individual site is using as I already have several hundred members.
I am running IIS5 on win2k and as with most free hosts, I use a single IP address for all websites and I am giving members their own subdomain, so each is a separate virtual webserver.
I create logfiles for each member, but of course it is not possible to run my Statistics Server service against every webserver as this would take forever and I would still have to manually check each set of stats.
What I need is something that will for example scan through all the logs and just tally up total hits and bandwidth used and generate a report.
I assume something like this must exist as the likes of geocites and the others have hundreds of thousands of members to manage, and they catch you quickly if you start abusing their system.

You should consider using additional software or hardware to limit/track bandwidth (floodgate, packeteer, ...) Peter Van Eeckhoutte
