We have a remote site in Holland and want to collect the CIL Data using our London server. A Tracker will allow us to deliver the data using IP (from the v24 output) BUT a tracker is a lot of money!

If we were to set up the MD110 with CIL over IP is there any buffering OR confirmation that the data is reaching it's destination?

In short with the IP output over the WAN am i more likely to loose CIL data ? What if the server in London goes down ?

Any practical experiences appreciated

cheers
Al

IMHO a local buffer is needed, our you'll certainly loose data since there's no buffering on the MD110 side.
if you find the tracker a lot of money, see if you have a local pc with software that can do the buffering...

What kind of software would be looking at to do this buffering?

Also what is "IMHO"?

Cheers

IMHO = In My Humble Opinion

considering buffering software, there are enough recources on the internet about this subject.

try to google "cdr buffer" or "data logging"

Hi

A better solution would be to initated CIL on HDU handled by a separte NIU board. Then you access via IP on this NIU board and do FTP on the files loaded on the HDU to fetch the CIL record.
We perfomr this in different customer installation and it works at least well.
