Hi, Looking for some ideas on how to track rotables with Accpac.
Rotables are usually stock items, which are being repaired and it's value is therefore lower than new stock items.

How are other users tracking rotables/repairs?

Thanks for your replies.
I guess it would probably have to be both.
We use average costing and in order to not mix up stock values of new items and refurbished items, they would require a seperate item number.
A seperate location in Accpac is helpful as well in order to look up what rotables are available in a physical location.

A separate location would give you separate costing even when using the same item number, regardless of the costing method used in IC. In other words IC costing is by item and location, not on item only.

Thanks for your replies.
Correct, costing is by item number and location.
It would prevent me from transfering rotable items to other locations though when using the same item number, as in this case I would mix values for new and refurbished items.
