Hi

Is there any log keep records of action within sysbase. I know there are certain logs at OS level that able me to check, but I can not find any log at SYBASE level for me to check.

Or, is there any way to check an user's action when he/she already executed a command, which has been completed a few hour passed.
Thanks

The capability you're interested in is called "auditing" in the Sybase documentation. You can audit a variety of events (logins, logouts, unsuccessful login attempts, and so on) and you can also log the actual SQL of specific users or all of them.

However, you have to have this set up in advance. Without having auditing enabled, you have no way to track the information you want.

For 12.5, the info you need's in Chapter 12 "Auditing" of the System Administration Guide (the chapter number might be different for earlier versions but auditing's been available, I believe since 10.0 so you should be able to set it up).

Hi Crag

Is there any web site discussing about this in detail? 'Cause I don't have the Admin Sybase book. In fact, what book are you talking about (I am going to buy it then)
Thanks
