Trace Tools

Are there any tools to trace Analysis Service 2000 and can be helpful for performance tuning. With sql 2005 profiler I was able to trace 2005 but not 2000. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Not really you can use perfmon to get some info but tuning AS2k is a real artform. What performance issues are you trying to clear up?

Thank you for the resposne.
We have an application that connects to a SQL DB and authenticate the user then it will AS to pull data from CUBES. The authentication steps goes quick that I can see in SQL Profiler, then no response upo 5 min to gather the data from CUBES. So I am trying figure out what scripts are executing at that stage and how can I improve the response time. I am not an expert in AS and the application is not designed by me. So my only hope is to run some trace against the db and troubleshoot the delay.

you can make sure that query logging is set on and then run Usage based optimizations to see if maybe it needs some aggs if you can find out what mdx is being run this may also help.

What do the server resources look like while this is running?
