I get the error

"TR1008 Transformer couldn't read the connection information for database [TESTDB]from the COGNOS.ini, from the IQD or from Access Manager"

when I try to use my IQD as a datasource in PowerPlay Transformer.

I created this IQD using from a Sybase IQ view using Framework Manager. When I preview my view in Framework, I can look at the data fine, including being able to set the externalize method to csv and create the whole database file. When then set the externalize method to IQD and create the package, I get no errors. The IQD file appears to have been successfully created.

However, when I then try to use the IQD as a datasource in transformer, I get the above error. I'm not sure what setup ingredient I'm missing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
`` Emily

Try to delete the line from the .ini file that has your database connection string. Then go back to access manager and recreate that datbase/login. Then make sure your database in your .iqd is spelled the same as what you added in access manager. Give it another try at that point. Sometimes this has worked for me in the past. It creates a new line in your .ini file.

When you create the IQD files from framework manager, you still need to ensure that the datasource exists on the server you are building the cubes from or in access manager.
