OK, here's the deal. We have a Merlin Magix System and have been encountering sporatic problems with gaining access to Voicemail. At times when the VM is dialed, we either get a internal ring sound or it ring no-answers. VM doesn't pick up. It is totaly random at this point.

The problem does not seem to be related to the number of ports as we have six-ports available and the problem has occured when no-one else was in the office. Cycling power when the problem occurs (as much as two times a week) corrects the problem temporarily. We have replaced the Merlin Messaging Rel. 3.0 three times with Avaya provided replacement cards and are still encountering the same problem.

Also possibly related on less than 2% of handsets is the fact that no message waiting indicator light is lit, but new messages are in a users mailbox. This may be completely undrelated.

We took a look at the error logs and we see the following:

Invalid Slot Interupt
Slot 00 Port 00
Code 0010

Slot Stream Count Exceeded
Slot 02 Port 00
Code 000C

Slot Stream Count Exceeded
Slot 05 Port 00
Code 000C

These are the only errors we are seeing.

The Port Population is as follows:

00 - CKE5
01 - 024 TDL
02 - 024 TDL
03 - 016 TRR
04 - 100/D/CSU/DSU
05 - Merlin Messaging
06 - 024 TDL

Does anyone have any clue what may be happening here or how to translate these errors into English. Also, if you know of any resources that provide detailed error codes and their meaning for the Magix system, that would be great as well.

Many thanks in advance.
