Touch Tone Issues

Hello,

We have recently upgrades to an S8500 media gateway server. We didn't have any problems for two weeks and are beginning to experience issues with dtmf tone being passed on outbound phone calls. Anyone have an ideas of why this is happening?

By the way, this only affect IP phones, the digital phones work with no problems.

you need to get some traces form those stations and post them on here... also, test your medpro and make sure it is configured properly and locked to 100 full... there are a lot of thing that can cause this.. get some traces when is happens.. maybe it will point to a network-region problem, or trunk group.... it could even be the network.... Start with locking everything down to 100 full and ensuring all links stay up. if taking off auto neg. causes the link to go out, start looking at your network.....

Which is the version of the CM?

Try to check and made some test on

IP DTMF TRANSMISSION MODE
Intra-System IP DTMF Transmission Mode:
(you can choose in-band or rtp-payload)

you can find it on system-parameters ip-options

Assuming you are referring to a beep tone on out going calls and you are on CM3.1.3. If so, you need a patch - ask for patch 13720. If you need it, post your email address and I will email it to you.

We are using version 3.0, I spoke with an Avaya tech and he did mention the the IP DTMF Transmission mode. It was set to rtp-payload and I changed it to in-band. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
