Hi every one,
Here is my problem.

I have a BCM 50 rls 6.0

After placing an outgoing call using a SIP trunk I do not have acces to touch tone once the call has been answered by the destination.
I need touch tone because half of the time there is an AA and I need to dial extensions.
I have tried using feature 808 for long tones and it did not work.
I have tried the following telephones; M series, T series, IP 1230 and IP 1140e and it did not work.
I tried using a physical trunk and now have touch tone acces ! It's pretty weird...works with physical trunks but not with SIP trunks?

Thanks

I would call the provider and ask them what the timers are set for dialing.

There is a timer between digits and for the complete call to leave acces to touch tone.

The provider is VoiP.ms

They told me that there are no timers to set. I only have three options for the DRMF settings. Auto, RFC2833 (AVT), Inband and Info. I've tried all of them and it didn't work.

The guy on the phone tried a few things and it did not work!

Is there a place in the element manager were I can set the DTMF tones for the SIP trunks?

The tones work on a physical line and not on a SIP trunk, so it's got to be a settings on the SIP trunks I suppose?

Thanks

We had the same issue sort of, any way what fixed ours was changing the following in element manager.
IP Trunks\SIP Trunking\Global Settings: RFC2833 Dynamic payload 120
The "default" on a BCM50 is "0" which disables this feature. Changed to 120 which is the recommened value and now our DTMF tones work. By the way the "default" value on a BCM450 is 120 so no issues.

It's a phone system, NOT a clock!

Thanks for the info,

My RFC2833 Dynamic payload was set at 120 :(

So in my case it is not it.

I have got some developpement on my problem.

If I call myself on a SIP trunk, I have touch tone to dial the AA.
If I use the same line and call another number(in this case local Meteo) I do not have touch tone to access the AA. ??

I do not know what types of lines this Meteo service uses!

What I know is that if I use a pysical line from my BCM to call to same Meteo service I do have access to touch tone.

I need to solve this problem ! :) :)

What type of phones are you using? First generation i 2004 sets have trouble sending DTMF's after the call is connected. That latest patches corrected this.

Oh wait, I saw your line above, I read too fast....

So you've tried all the phones? Do you have the latest patches?

As far as the patches go, my BCM is all up to date.
My element manager is updated to 62.0.0
All other applications: no update required.

All ip phones also have been updated to the lastest firmware.

Thanks again

I am using voip.ms with a BCM50 6.0. Is there anything we can cross reference to get this working for you?

Hi,
Yes, I will use all the help I can get!

I have a touch tone problem on my SIP Trunks.
I do not know if it is Voip.ms or the BCM?

One thing is sure, it is a SIP line problem because I kept a physical line in my system and it works fine.

The funny thing is if I call myself on the SIP trunks and can dial through the Callpilot with no problems.

If I use the same SIP trunks and call a public number, I loose touch tone capabilities.
Any idea?
Thanks

I would suggest using the built in LAN Capture utility to verify the BCM is sending the tones.
You will see the DTMF in the trace when you review it with WireShark.
Once you can prove you are sending tones, the provider will need to figure out why they are not traversing the network.
They may be sending them out of band.

Also ... long tones are not supported on SIP. So the tones may actually be getting to the destination, but are not long enough for the destination equipment to recognize the tone.

I was having this problem before I updated the patches back in June. The i2004 sets were not able to access phone trees or voice mails. Now they work.

When I get home tonight, I'll look through my BCM and tell you what my settings on the SIP Trunks are.

Thanks for the help guys!

Where is the Lan Capture utility? Is it on the BCM?

Thanks

Hi guys,

I've tried all of the abouve and still cannot access touch tone for tree access or dial extensions??

I cannot find the LAN capture utility on my system to see if the BCM is sending tones.

Is the capture utility the BCM Monitor?

Thanks

if you compress a call to much it will not respond to DTMF make G711 your first choice for and see how that work out.

Hi there Bonker1974,

I have tried what you suggested and it solved my problem!
I want to thank you very much, you've made my day!!

I do not want to abuse, but I have two other problems that I cannot solve.
1st: In the Activity Reporter I am unable to see extension 225 in the reporter. All my active extentions are but not that one? Do you have an idea why Sctivity Reporter doesn't see that DN?

2nd: When I murged my phone system from CICS to a BCM 50 rls 6.0 I had 4 extensions that had feature 64 9 programmed on them. When the BCM was installed the phones kept this feature programmed. Now I am trying to add this feature to other extensions but the BCM will not let me add the last digit witch is the pool number. Here is what I am doing;
feautre *3
press on an available button
feature 64 and (no digits are available from here on...)
??

thanks
