Hi all,

Is it possible to use the 4630 on an IP Office system? I've been told that it is only for Multivantage/Definity. If it will not work with IP Office is there a similar product available?

We would like to have a phone setup in our boardroom to setup conference calls using speed-dials. Right now someone brings in a laptop(assuming they are not somewhere else with it) but I think a phone with a touchscreen that can always be in the boardroom would be a better solution.

Thanks in advance for suggestions.

The last time I tested the 4630 on the IPO was on a 2.0.

The phone worked. BUT the screen only showed the extension.

the "TRUE" 4630 functions do not work and oh, IT IS NOT supported on the IP Office.

too bad too, cause I like the interface for it on the MV/CM

I couldn't even get the phone to completely register w/ the IPO. It built the extension (auto create extensions was enabled). but, the phone was useless.

That doesn't suprise me. I know I had to load the BIN files of the 4630 to the manager folder. And do some other stuff just to get the phone to register. After that, I pretty much gave up.

Just FYI, last I heard, Avaya had put a "hold" on these phones and were no longer shipping them out until certain "issues" were resolved. To my knowledge (though it may be incorrect) they are still not being shipped out as of yet. For either ECG or SMBS (Definity or IP Office)
