I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this queststion...BUT

Is it possible to have a touch screen controls in VFP.

What I am envisaging is a form with certain controls that when you touch them they execute.... (a bit like one sees in the chemist to browse product databases)

FoxEgg,

There are several ActiveX controls available that will drive a touch screen. One example is Mountain Focus Virtual Keyboard ( I have no experience of this product, but I can see no reason for it not to work in VFP.

Touch screen is really more of a hardware consideration. Touching a button on a touch screen monitor is the same as clicking on it with the mouse.

Andy,

Touch screen is really more of a hardware consideration. Touching a button on a touch screen monitor is the same as clicking on it with the mouse.

That's true. The controls I was referring to handle the display of the buttons on the screen, and mapping them to specific function codes.

Thanks all and seasons greetings...

I have now learnt that

(1)VFP can work with touch screen controls

AND

(2)Touch Screens are a different bit of hardware ...a fact about which I had no clue; I thought there was just some clever raster algorithm....(hence clearly indicating that I am no rocket scientist - )

Many thanks for the information; all the best.

FoxEgg,

You can also take a look at one of the older threads on the topic, like this: thread184-678850.
